Illness Took Over The House

Oh boy, what a week!!  Last Monday, Evin woke up with a fever.  It continued for several days.  On Wednesday, Jaxin woke up with a fever, which also continued for several days.  On Wednesday, Evin went to the doctor and was diagnosed with Hand, Foot and Mouth as well as a right ear infection.  She was put on antibiotics for the ear infection. On Friday, Jaxin went to the doctor and was diagnosed with most likely strep throat (didn't have to test because) as well as a right ear infection.  He was put on antibiotics for the ear infection too.  There were MANY MANY sleepless nights for this mommy.  Both kids ONLY wanted Mommy! It was rough.  Daddy tried to help, but the kids would scream more.  LUCKILY, Evin's bad nights were over before Jaxin's started.  They didn't both need me on the same nights.  Yesterday (Sunday), both kids woke up happy and normal! This morning was great! Evin was so happy that she got to go back to school!!!!  The other good thing is that as soon as the pain started to go away for both kids, they have been rocking their sleep.  Means LOTS of long naps!

Saturday, Matt when shopping for some house hold decorations.  Our house has been fairly empty except for toys and the kids rooms.  He went bargin shopping and came home with some AMAZING deals on things.  Now we have some decorations in our Master Bedroom, a guest room that is complete aside from curtains, a cozy entry way and a true play room for the kids.  Matt found a wonderful (used for home staging) kids table from Pottery Barn for an unbelievable price. I am so excited about it and so are the kids.  Just look!
Posing together (yes the chairs are big enough for Mommy and Daddy to play too!)
Playing already!
Her feet fall perfectly for the "foot rest"
Jaxin thought he was cool too!

The "Play Room"
So this is supposed to be the formal living room and dining room.  We have made it into a play room and sitting area.  Nothing formal in my house! The kids both love having this space and it appears that it will keep the toys a bit more contained now that it is arranged like this.

Sunday was cleaning and organizing day.  It is when we did the guess bed room and cleaned everything in the house except for the carpets, we just ran out of time.  Matt has a little floor mopping helper!
She loves to "mop" with daddy.  She even gets an empty bucket for her water (the black box in the corner).

  1. Hunter's favorite thing to do is help wiht the floors! Great idea with her own box that might keep Hunter out of my water!

  2. I am glad the kids are better and that Mommy and Daddy did not get sick. That table OMG.. your man has great taste... I could never trust Rudy like that unless he had a list of what to look for. LOL... I need to update mine.

  3. You guys sound like us! Sickies everywhere.
We turned our "formal dinging room" into a music/school/play room. You walk into our house and the first thing you see is a wall covered with preschool work and a piano and drum set. Who needs formality? They're only little once!
